The 2021 Riesling Steiner Hund was grown on a mix of loess, loam and calcareous conglomerate. Yeastiness is still foremost on the nose, but it is backed up by ripe yellow pear and yellow plum with mandarin peel juiciness. The plate is even juicier, even riper, with glowing Mirabelle and zesty tangerine. There is something pervasive here, absolutely fresh and totally streamlined, textured, pushing forward and through the senses with citric insistence and exquisite length, all on a yeasty, zesty, contoured and linear body.
