Much like its Grand Pin stablemate, the 2022 Chateauneuf du Pape La Guigasse manages to be full-bodied and concentrated yet simultaneously light and airy in feel. There's less rose petal here and more garrigue, backed by silky notions of ripe cherries and dark chocolate, while gossamer-like tannins provide a wonderfully pliable, gauzy structure.
The 2022 Châteauneuf Du Pape La Guigasse is meatier and more savory, with a gorgeous perfume of mulled red fruits, ground black pepper, and Provençal garrigue. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it delivers fine tannins, a seamless, layered mouthfeel, nicely integrated stems, and a great finish.
