The 2022 Saint-Véran Les Châtaigniers is raised in foudre. It is more austere on the nose compared to the La Vieille Vigne, but it is well-defined with scents of dried honey and nectarine coming through with time, then becoming a little waxy in style. The palate is fresh and citrus-driven, with orange rind coming through with aeration, perhaps just needing a little more mineralité to complete the wine on the finish. But it will certainly give several years of drinking pleasure.
